THE COLONIAL SERVICE.
CONDITIONS ATTACHING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF
ASSISTANT MISTRESS, EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, HONG KONG.
1. The appointment is probationary for three
years, and although it must be clearly understood
that the Hong Kong Government is and will be under
no obligation to provide further employment, the office
of Assistant Mistress is normally regarded as of a
permanent nature, and in the ordinary course of events
if an officer's service and conduct is entirely
satisfactory to the Goverment, and if she is considered
in every way fit medically and otherwise to continue in ɗfice, the prospects are that the Government will
retain her services if she so desires either by
transfer to the permanent establishment with
consequential benefits and expectations or by re-
engagement for a further period under a fresh agreement.
'In the absence of express agreement with or decision
of the Government to the contrary any continued service after the expiry of the probationary period of
three years will be monthly.
2. The services of an Assistant Mistress will be
available for any suitable duties upon which the
Governor in the interests of the public service may
think it desirable to employ her, and she will be
required to teach in any shcool in Hong Kong.
Subject to the permission of the Director of Education
an Assistant Mistress may undertake private tuition.
If she marries she will be required to resign her
appointment.
3.
