The present system of inspection
is considered to be adequate.
In addition
to the English inspector and his two Chinese
lady assistants who are specially employed
by the Hong Long Govt. to supervise girls
who have been registered, and to check any
abuses of the anti-mui-tsai legislation, there
are three inspectors employed by the Hong
Long Society for the Protection of Children.
The duties of these inspectors are not however
confined to the inspection of girls who were
formerly mui-tsai. It is understood that
other unofficial bodies, such as the anti-mui-
tsai Society and the Po Leung Kuk also make
enquiries into alleged abuses of the anti-mui-tsai
