I am therefore to ask that you will press the
Colony to make the payment of $500,000 in January 1933 in
accordance with the agreed arrangement.

Concerning the surrender of the property to the
Hong Kong Government, My Lords regret that at present
They are unable to state a date on which this can take
place as this is dependent upon the progress made with the
New Depot at Stone cutters Island. The Government of
Hong Kong may, however, rest assured that the work will
be carried out as expeditiously as may be possible.
My Lords consider it improbable that the scheme can be
completed before some time in 1936.
