With reference to your letter dated 12th November

1932, No.92608/32, regarding the liability for the cost

of diverting the Aerial Ropeway in connection with the

surrender of the Naval Arsenal Yard to the Hong Kong

Government, I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of

the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of

the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that They view

with concern the proposal of the Hong Kong Government

to suspend payment of the final instalment of their

contribution towards the cost of the New Naval Armament

Depot at Stone cutters Island.

While My Lords appreciate the position of the

Hong Kong Government in the matter, They desire to point

out that the Navy Estimates for the current year allow

for the receipt of the agreed payments on the appointed

dates, and to state that They deprecate any action to
