GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONG KONG, 15th July, 1932.

(28.
Sir,
With reference to Mr. (afterwards Viscount) Harcourt's despatch No.43 of the 21st February, 1913,
on the subject of the grant to the University of
Hong Kong of an area of land for use as a recreation
ground, I have the honour to state that I have
received an application from the University authorities
for the area shown coloured red on the attached plan as
an extension of Inland Lot 1949.
2.
Inland Lot 1949, the main recreation ground
of the University provides only very restricted
accommodation for the requirements of such an
institution, and the area now applied for will form a
useful addition to it. I should therefore be glad
to have your approval for its grant to the University
subject to the following terms and conditions:-
(a) The lessees to surrender Inland Lot No. 1949
to Government when required by the Land Officer.
(b) The lessees to take up a new Crown Lease for Inland Lot No. 1949 including the extension, such Crown Lease to be for the same term and to
commence from the same date as, and to be subject
to all the clauses and covenants contained in the
existing Crown Lease of Inland Lot No.1949
pem
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
SIR P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER, G.B.E., M.C., M.P..
