The plan of Inland Lot 1949 which
accompanies the despatch No. 355 (26) differs
materially from the plan which accompanied the
despatch, No. 23 of the 21st of January, 1913
(5612/13 in bo und volume) requesting approval of
the grant of the Crown Lease of the area in
question to the University as a recreation ground.
The large triangular piece of land in the North-
East corner between Pokfullmy Road and the road
to Kennedy Town appears to have been added to
the lot since the lot was granted.
At any
rate, this piece was not included in the plan on
which the original transaction was approved by
the Secretary of State.
The area of the lot
on the original plan was marked as about 242,160
square feet; the area of the lot as now held is,
Normally,
however, not marked on the new plan.
we should not, I suppose, be concerned with details
such as these, but in the present case we might
perhaps in replying, enquire as to the area of Lot
1949 as now held, and ask whether it is identical
with the lot originally granted, the area of which
was about 242,160 square feet.
The effect of the present proposal is to
grant to the University authorities a further
18,720 square feet, without premium, at a nominal
rental
