The Chinese Library.

During the year 1931, 9 sets containing 78 volumes were presented to the Library. There were 937 sets in 31,122 Volumes as against 928 sets in 31,044 volumes in the previous year. The number of volumes borrowed during the year was 304 as against 198 in last year. It is hoped that Mr. Fung Ping Shan's new Library will be ready by this year, and that more books will be forthcoming to equip this spacious library.

The Chinese Society.

The Chinese Society had a very successful year. Many prominent speakers were invited to address the Society, among whom were H.E. Tye Chi Tao, President of the Examination Yuan of the National Government of Nan-king; and Dr. Choy Yuan Pei, formerly Chancellor of the Peking University. Owing to unavoidable circumstances, the Chinese journal which was promised in last year's report had to be postponed till this com- ing year.
