THE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG
FOR 1931.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS.
On the 31st December, 1931, there were 346 students on the rolls of the University. Of these 31 were women. The

These totals include 13 external students of whom 10 (7 men and 3 women) were in the Faculty of Arts, the balance being made up of two men in the Faculty of Engineering and one in the Faculty of Medicine.
ORDINARY AND HIGHER Degrees.
Thirty-six students graduated at the end of 1931: 14 in the Medical Faculty, 12 in the Engineering Faculty and to in the Arts Faculty. Of the 12 graduates in the Engineering Faculty 9 specialised during the final year of their course in civil engineer- ing, second class honours being awarded to one of these graduates. The remaining 3 graduates specialised during their final year in mechanical engineering.
The degree of Master of Surgery was awarded during the year to Mr. Phoon Seck Wah, M.B.B.S. and the degree of Doctor of Medicine to Mr. Bau Tsu Zung, M.B.B.S. The branches in which Mr. Bau specialised for his doctor's degree were obstetrics and gynecology.
