No. 480.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG, 12th November, 1931.
(!)
1. on 82840/31
Sir,
With reference to my despatch No.459 of the
27th of October, 1931, forwarding a draft General
Order on the subject of study leave, I have the
honour to state that, if it has your approval, this
will replace paragraph 10 B of the leave Regulations
which accompanied my despatch No. 263 of the 2nd of
June, 1931.
2.
Except for some amplification in the latest
draft the principle of the two versions is much the
same, and I request your authority to proceed with
this revision, without waiting for your approval of
the general Leave and Passage regulations, in view of
certain difficulties which have arisen in applying
the existing rules on the subject.
3. Should your approval of the regulations in question have been already signified before you receive this despatch I shall be glad if you will by telegraph authorise the substitution now requested, if it meets with your approval.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
SIR P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER, G.B.E., MC., M.P.,
&c.,
&C.,
