Gentlemen,
I am directed to acknowledge the receipt
of your letter No.278 Z/E 351/23 of the 14th of October,
1931, on the subject of the annual contribution made
by this Government to the research work undertaken by the
Committee of the Institution of Civil Engineers on
deterioration of structures exposed to sea action.
I am to request that, subject to the approval
of the 1932 Estimates by the Secretary of State, the
sum of £50 may be paid to the Institution and debited
to the account held with this Government.
