Interim Report
The First Annual Report of the Society, published in December, 1930, dealt only with the work of the Society between its constitution on the 21st January, 1930, and the middle of November in the same year.
That Report dealt mainly with the efforts to finance the organization, with the matters to which it was pro- posed to devote attention and with the very limited number of cases (27) investigated by the Society in the period of three months after the appointment of its first Inspector.
The Society now having dealt with more than 100 cases, the Honorary Secretaries present for the infor- mation of the members of the Society and the public of Hong Kong, this Interim Report dealing with the work of the past six months.
Cases Dealt With
In the six months from 15th November, 1930, to 14th May, 1931, the Society investigated 80 cases, bring- ing total number of cases up to 107. The welfare of 141 children was involved.
Forty cases were reported by officials of hospitals and dispensaries or by members of the public, while the remaining 67 were found by the Society's Inspector.
