on full salary than that for which he is eligible, the balance
will be reserved for his future use, unless he is proceeding home on retirement in which case he will not be granted more than five months' leave on full salary.
(3) Leave may be granted at the rates in force on (the day
before the coming into force of these regulations) on account
of resident service up to (same date) inclusive provided that the leave granted under the new and old regulations shall not exceed 9 months in all at any one time.
(2) LONG LEAVE.
12. The Governor will report to the Secretary of State each case in which long leave of absence has been granted, trans-
mitting a leave certificate in the approved form. The officer proceeding on leave will be furnished with a duplicate of the certificate to enable him to draw his salary. A third copy
of the certificate will be sent direct to the Crown Agents for S.of S.'s the Colonies in every case of an officer proceeding on leave Circular 6.11.29. to Europe with instructions to issue the salary accordingly

Application must be made to the Colonial Secretary for the leave certificates required by the preceding rule one month before the commencement of the proposed long leave. Applications must be in the prescribed form.
14. Subject to the provisions of Chapter VIII relating to
passages and to the provisions of General Order 109(12) relat-
ing to quarters, an officer on leave is not eligible for transport, travelling or house allowance.
15. On arriving in England the officer on leave will report his arrival by letter to the Colonial Office and Crown Agents, C.0.Circ. mentioning his address, and he will similarly notify any sub- of 16.8.09.
