HALF PAY LEAVE.
(6) When an officer is certified by a Medical Officer to
be convalescent after any exhausting illness or severe
operation or after having suffered a serious accident, and to require for his convalescence a period of absence from duty, he may with the approval of the Governor, be granted
convalescent leave for any period not exceeding ten days.
(7) In special cases convalescent leave may with the
approval of the Governor be granted for any period not exceed-
ing two weeks.
(8)
Convalescent leave shall not be granted more than once in any one year dating from 1st January to 31st December,
and for the purpose of record shall be recorded as sick leave.
(9) If upon the termination of such sick leave and
convalescent leave (if any) as may be granted to him an
officer is certified by a Medical Officer to be still unable
to resume duty he may be granted leave of any description
for which he may be eligible.
(10) All sick leave and convalescent leave granted under
these rules, including that granted to heads of departments
and all resumptions of duty after such leave must be entered
in monthly returns in accordance with General Order No.
(11) Without the special permission of the Governor an officer on sick leave is not at liberty to leave the Colony.
(12) The Governor may require an officer to obtain a medical certificate of fitness before returning to duty.
10.A. When an officer receives, in addition to the salary Col.Reg. 120. of his appointment, an allowance granted to himself person- G39
ally, and not permanently attached to his office, he may, when absent on half pay leave, draw only half of such personal allowance, the remaining moiety being left undrawn and lapsing to the Colonial Treasury. The undrawn moiety of the increments of salary of the absent officer will similarly lapse.
STUDY LEAVE. 10.B. (1) Where an officer has the permission of the
