FULL PAY LEAVE.
casual or sick leave, before the last day of February in any year, must, unless they obtain special permission from the Governor to the contrary, send in their annual reports for the preceding year before their departure.
8.(1) Full pay leave not exceeding one month in duration may be granted by the Head of a Department to any of his subordinates who may be eligible therefor. Leave to Heads and Assistant Heads of Departments, also leave exceeding one month in duration, must be referred to the Colonial Secretary. (2) Leave granted by Heads of Departments under paragraph (1) of this rule must be entered in monthly retums in
accordance with General Order No.
(3) Heads and Assistant Heads of Departments must report
to the Colonial Secretary their resumption of duty on retum from full pay leave and when such leave exceeds three months
in duration must make such report in person.
LONG LEAVE.
9. Except in special circumstances officers must give nine months' notice of their intention to apply for long leave. In the case of senior officers the notice must be given (1) or of Depart- ments. (2) Other

subordinate officers notice to the Head of Department will
suffice unless acting arrangements requiring the approval of Government are involved, when the application must be trans-
mitted to the Colonial Secretary.
9.A. Leave cannot be claimed by an officer transferred
to Hong Kong on account of his service under the Crown in another Colony or Protectorate/but such service may be taken
into consideration in determining the leave which may be omill granted to him on account of his service in Hong Kong. ;

9.B. All casual leave granted must be entered in monthly LEAVE.
