Grampian Sanatorium,

Kingussie.

26th. July 1931.

This is to certify that r. John Robertson was a patient in this Sanat- orium from 29th. September 1924 to 31st. Day 1928. On admission he was suffering from tuberculosis of the lungs; the disease being present an both sides, and being of the acute and disseminated type. On admission the patient gave a history of having been wounded in the abdomen while performing his duties as a policeman abroad. After he recovered from these wounds his digestion became permanently affected, and from time to time he suffered from attacks of abdominal pain and discomfort. He was unable to take sufficient nourishment to keep up his normal weight. As a consequence his general health deterior ted gently, and later he began to cough and to expectorate, and incipient tuberculosis of the lungs was diagnosed.

It is obvious that as the result of the deterioration of his general condition, caused by the ablominal injuries and wounds Ir. Robertson be- come liabl. to infection by the gern of tuberculosis. It is reasonable to conclude that although this man died of tuberculosis this disease was brought on as a result of the wounds he received in the course of his employment as a police officer.
