We are unable to find any valid reason for treating Saturday afternoons differently from Sundays and holidays and consider that the above scale should apply to such occasions.
(f) The allowances to the Chief and Mechanical Engineers, Kowloon-Canton Railway are of a very special nature in that they represent work done temporarily on behalf of a foreign Government. We consider therefore that they should be retained while the work continues to be done. We observe that the allowances for repairs to running stock ($3.00 per hour and $2,00 per hour subject to a limit) are largely in conformity
