In the case of the first of the se we have felt obliged to report that the general and special recommendations of the Salaries Report are so divergent that we could make no useful recommendations on the problems referred to us and we have now been authorized to review the whole scheme of overtime
payments. In the case of the second it has been necessary to collect a very large mass of detail from departments. The collection is now complete and it only remains for us to digest the information and formulate our views. The third is still being investigated.
Our recommendations on the se problems together with any others which may come to light in the meantime will be submittod as soon as possible.
