intention of the Salaries Commission to more than
double in 1930, the 1928 salary of any officer and,
seeing that the salaries allotted to the Chinese Medical Officers under the present revision give a
minimum increase of 33% over their salaries in 1928,
we consider the allotment fair.

We consider that the salaries of the
Assistant Visiting Medical Officer for Chinese Hospital
and the fedical Officers for Schools should alike be

$6,600 per annum, the sum of $7,800 proposed in Sessional Paper No.3. of 1930 for the former post having
been based on misinformation.
40.
The Matron of Kowloon Hospital has applied for an increase in the salary of that post. The scales allotted by the Salaries Report to the Nursing Staff were carefully considered by Government before submitting to
the Secretary of State its recommendations on the Report
now contained in Sessional Paper No.3. of 1930. These
recommendations advocated no change in the scales in
question and we do not feel at liberty to review this
decision.
41. We consider that the salary of Mr. A. Kurrik temporarily employed as an Assistant Analyst, should be increased to $500 per monsem as from the 1st of July, 1930.

42. We recommend that the systom be continued
by
