Superintendent of Aerodrome. This post

has been created subsequently to the Report of the

Salaries Commission. We recommend that the revised

salary be £700 to £1050 by five annual increments of

£30 each, two of £60 each, two of £30 each and one

of £20.

SECTION 14.

Royal Observatory.

18. Mr. B.D. Evans, First Assistant in this

department has applied for leave to count all his service

as First Assistant as qualifying him for increments

in his revised scale. But in this case, as in others,

there has been an interim revision as a result of which

Mr. Evans' salary was raised on the 1st of January,

1927, from £500 to $560, the latter figure representing

the 8th increment in the scale £400 - £700 then

adopted. We consider that his service for the

purposes of the present revision must be based on

that position and that he should enter his new scale

(on, 1.1.30) at the eleventh increment i.e. £775.

SECTION 15.

Fire Brigade.

19.

Inspection Officer. This is a new ost

created since the Salaries Report.

We recommend that

£600 by £10 annually,

it shall carry a salary of £550

20.

Mechanical Engineer. The Chief Officer of

the Fire Brigade has recommended that the salary scale
