1930) for his basic salary of £900 per annum plus £160 bonus with further increments in the bonus scale on the anniversaries of his first appointment i.e. on lst August, and I have, subject to confirmation by Your Lordship, awarded him salary accordingly.

This decision calls for similar alterations in the cases of Doctors Pope and Mellon, dealt with in 1. paragraphs 35 and 36 of the Anomalies Committee's report. Dr. Pope should receive £1060 from 1st January, 1930, and his incremental date should be 13th September. Dr. Mellon should receive £1180 from 1st January, 1930, and his incremental date should be 19th August. I have authorized, subject as in the case of Dr. Fehily to your
confirmation, payment of salary to be made in accordance
with these alterations.

I should add that I do not consider that
the bonus scale should be receivable by any medical
officer who has acquired the Diploma of Public Health
but only by those selected for the health side, where
such special knowledge is of direct value to Goverment.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Your Lordship's most obedient, humble servant,
ん
Governor, &c.
