What the China Association really
press for is a 10% cut in H.K. sterling
salaries. I think they
are
right in
their contention that these salaries
ނ
on the high side, but the financial position in H.K. does not warrant a ralary cut. The 1932 budget has been balansed
the baris 18=1/-; there will be big moflesis it remains in
level of 14=1/6.

their letter has been
carefully considered but that the 3.f5.
agrees with the H.K. fort. that the
circumstances in H.K. donot necesitate
a cut of 15%, in sterling
ratories.
