To what extent the Company should be made liable to

pay the cost of these terms, the present Government

staff were of course not particularly interested,

as that was a matter for a bargain between the

Government and the Company, but Mr. King thought that it would be reasonable to invite the Company to

bear the cost of any payments directly incurred on

account of the abolition of Government employment. (He has all the detailed information about the

existing staff and would be willing to help with

calculations as to what would be the

e.g.,

approximate cost to the Company of any set of

proposals on above lines for reimbursing the Govern- ment).
