With reference to your letter of the 13th
instant, No.82764/1/31, forwarding a copy of correspondence
with Messrs. John Swire & Sons Limited, concerning the
anti-piracy guards provided by the Government of Hong Kong,
I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to suggest, for the consideration of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that, in view of the forthcoming case against the Crown, a report on this matter should be obtained from the Governor, Hong Kong, by telegraph.
My Lords also suggest that a copy of the
correspondence forwarded with your letter should be sent
to the Treasury Solicitor.
A copy of this letter has been sent to the
Board of Trade.
