To T.HXing, $800,
sir,
The other day I interviewed ir.li Pin Cheung from whom I understand that you are really appreciating me. I have sent you a letter which I believe, has reached you. Now I am entrusted by our Government with an important post to take responsibility for the pacification and suppression of pirates in Bias Bay. As the piretes often take long Kong as their rendezvous, which is beyond the jurisdiction of our Government is is difficult for me to clear them up, but if you will co-operate with me then dong kong and Kwong Tang will be same as one place, communicating with emah other, and the pirates dare not again take hong kong as their haunt. Since I took up the post I have lade captures in the dein aing and Hirundo piracy cases. Imida wore made at these two places but without
The pirates then taking the captives with them ran into the Ku Tin Rountain, which is a great mountain with thick forest, lying at the boundary between Wai Chow Yes Kam, Hoi Fung and Lak Fung Districts.
ia. Although a battalion of troops is sent there to carry out a raid it would be difficult to break up their den. On this account I
was obliged to command my men to approach the various villages in the vicinity of Leung Fa and Lai Kwong Leong on the 8.3.31, giving orders to the villages that the captive be handed out within a period of
success
