Ae regarde action taken since the und of 1929 I have to remort that the only now wete filled in 1930 have been thore of a imlariologist, a Lady tedical Officer to ageist in the work of visiting Chinese Hoenitals and Dispensaries, and a second lasseuse. In view of the pressing need for soonomy suggestions for additional posts such as fecret.ry to the sedical Department, and Tovernment Dental Surgeon - are 100088ari ly held in abeyance.

An officer has, however, been recently
a pointed as a specialist in Venereal incase to me of the posts of Health Officer, for which provision was made in the Antimates for 1929 and 1930, but which has
hitherto reained unfilled. The facilities for the
free treatment of this diseare are, in my opinion,
inadequate in this Colony, and I trust that with the
appointment of this specialint, it will be onsible to
effect considerable iprovement in this direction.
