The attention of the Committee is
invited to Chapter VIII (pages 104-107) of the
attached Report of the British Economic Mission

to the Far East, 1930-31 on "Cultural Relations
with China." It is felt that in view of the
recent discussions by the Committee on Hong
Kong University (22nd Meeting, item 4, 24th
Meeting item 4) this passage will be of
particular interest to members
A copy of the Report has already
been sent to the Governor of Hong Kong with a
request that he should examine this passage with
special reference to the university.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of State would be glad
to know whether the Committee can suggest any
special line of inquiry that the University
should
