Special work has been done on:---
A new type of face-screen; blood transfusion apparatus; and graduated tourniquets, and papers are in the course of preparation. 449 in-patients were treated in the three wards of the Surgical Clinic at the Government Civil Hospital.
620 surgical operations under anesthesia were performed. The out-patient attendance in the Surgical Clinic (including Ear, Nose, Throat and Orthopedics) numbered 4333-
There were also 2358 new patients who attended the ophthal- mic out-patients clinic.
Through the courtesy of the Trustees of the Matilda Hos- pital, the use of radium has been possible throughout this year. Dr. J. H. Montgomery of the Matilda Hospital has associated himself with the Surgical Clinic and makes a weekly round and with his special knowledge and experience is placing our radium treatment on a sound basis.
