has had not less than three years' training in a hospital or institution approved by the Board for the training of male nurses, or evidence that he has had not less than three years training as a male nurse in the service of the Admiralty, the Army Council, or the Air Council, or that as to part of the period aforesaid, he has had training as a male

nurse

in such hospital or institution, and as to the remainder, training as a male nurse in such service as afore- said. Applicants trained in the service of the Admiralty must hold certificate S. 1240 and those trained under the Army Council certificate A.F.C. 344 and those under the Air Council a certificate of equal nature.

B.-BY EXAMINATION.

11.) For the purposes of Section 4 of the Ordinance institutions shall be approved by the Board either-

(a) as Complete Training Schools, that is to say, as being, in the opinion of the Board Training Schools capable of providing a complete training qualifying

an Affiliated

Training School mean one Affiliated Training School, and not more than one; always provided that the Board reserve power to deal with special cases as it may see fit.

for admission either to the General Part of the Register or to a Supplementary Part of the Register or

(b) as Affiliated Training Schools, that is to say, as being in the opinion of the Board Training Schools capable of providing, in affiliation to a Complete Training School, a part of such training as aforesaid; or (e) as Associated Training Schools, that is to say, as being in the opinion of the Board, Training Schools capable of providing, in association with Training Schools with which they are associated, a part of such training as aforesaid.

Provided that the Board may, if they think fit, approve the same Training School both as a Complete Training School and an Associated Training School.

(ii) In approving an Affiliated Training School the Board shall direct what proportion of the period of training required by these Rules is to be spent in the Affiliated Training School and what proportion in the Complete Training School to which it is affiliated, and except where the context otherwise requires, a course of training for any specified period of time in an Affiliated Training School means for the purposes of these Rules a course of training arranged in accordance with the directions so given partly in that School and partly in the Complete Training School to which it is affiliated.
