The first instalment of the work, Contract value $34,200, and comprising the construction of a reinforced concrete structure was due to be com- pleted on 11th November, 1930. The value of work actually completed at end of year amounted to $18,360 leaving an unexpended balance on 1930 Vote amounting to

The second instalment of the work, valued $26,800 cousists of the erection of a steel bridge to span the space between the shore and reinforced con- crete structure.

49.-35, Charitable Services:-Grant in aid Flood Relief Fund

With the approval of the Secretary of State and the Finance Commit- tee of the Legislative Council, Government has donated a sum of $20,000 to the Tung Wah Hospital to be used for relief work in the Liang Kwang Provinces where great distress has occurred as the result of the floods.

A formal vote is now required. (C.S.O. 1 in 502/31).
