The sterling pensions which comprise the greater
part of this service were provided for on the basis
of exchange rate of 1s.4d. $1. As the rate fell considerably below this figure for ten months of the
year it becomes necessary to ask for a supplementary
vote for $68,000 to meet expenditure to the end of
