4. Public Works Extraordinary, Head 37-Water Works. Improve- ments to Taipo Waterworks

The present distribution system has become inadequate as a result of development in the Taipo district. It is therefore necessary, if this de- velopment is not to be checked, to replace a considerable length of pipe line with pipes of larger diameter and to construct a small balance tank.

The work, the total cost of which is estimated at $10,000, was considered with the draft Estimates for 1932, but was deleted owing to the financial position then obtaining.

If approval is given it is anticipated that the work can be com- pleted by the end of the year.
