IMMEDIATE.
Subject to decision on question of principle
following should be text of Article 21.
Additional
paragraphs to Articles 2 and 3 will then be unnecess-
ary.
Begins.
1. The present Treaty shall be binding during
a period of ten years from the date of its coming
into force.
2.
Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph
1 of this Article, and without prejudice to the pro-
visions of paragraph 5, the provisions of Article 2 of
the Treaty relating to the special chambers to be established by the Chinese Government, and those of Article 3 relating to the legal counsellors to be
appointed by the Chinese Government, shall remain in
force for such period as the Chinese Government may
deem appropriate, not being less than five years,
Either His Majesty or the President may demand that on the expiration of the said period of
ten years, the provisions of the draft Treaty shall
be revised, notice of such a demand shall be given at least twelve months before the expiration of the naid
