transfer its ordinary sittings to any such place as the Secretary of State approves. Under this Article the Judge and any Assistant Judge may sit at the same time at different places, and each sitting shall be deemed to be a sitting of the Supreme Court, 14. (1) In the exercise of their powers and the performance of their duties Registrars of Provincial Courts shall be subject to the control and direction of the respective Provincial Courts to which they are attached, unless a Judge of the Supreme Court is present in the district, when they shall be subject to his exclusive control and direction.

(2) Where an action in the Supreme Court has been com- menced by a summons issued from a Provincial Registry, inter- locutory applications in such action may, in the absence from the district of the Judge, be made to the Provincial Court to such extent and subject to such rights of appeal as may be prescribed by Rules of Court.

15. The Judge, or under his direction, an Assistant Judge, may visit, in a magisterial or judicial capacity, any place in Egypt, and there inquire of, or hear and determine, any case, civil or criminal, and may examine any records or other documents in any Provincial or Local Court, and give directions as to the keep- ing thereof.

Full Court.

16. (1) There shall be a Full Court for the purposes described in this Order.

(2) The following shall be members of the Full Court :-

The Judge of the Supreme Court.

The Assistant Judge of the Supreme Court (if any).

The Chief Justice of Palestine, or (in the event of his being unable to sit) a British Judge of the Supreme Court of Palestine.

The Chief Justice of Cyprus.

The Chief Justice of the Sudan, or (in the event of his being unable to sit) the Legal Secretary of the Sudan Government.

(3) For purposes connected with the work of the Full Court each of the persons mentioned in paragraph (2) shall have in Egypt, when sitting as a member of the Court, all the power and authority of a Judge of the Supreme Court.

(4) Subject to the provisions of Article 17, the Full Court shall consist of any three of the persons mentioned in paragraph (2) of this article; provided that the Judge of the Supreme Court, unless prevented by illness or absence from Egypt, shall always sit as a member of the Full Court.

(5) The Full Court shall ordinarily sit at Alexandria, but may

sit at any place in Egypt.

(6) The senior Judge present shall preside in the Full Court.

(7) If there is a difference of opinion between the members of the Full Court the decision shall be in accordance with the opinion of the majority.

17.--(1) For the purpose of hearing interlocutory appeals and appeals from a Provincial or Local Court, and also for the pur- poses of Articles 83, 88, 123 (2), 124, 125, 126, 129, and 130, the Full Court may be composed of two Judges only. In such case, if there is a difference of opinion, the opinion of the senior Judge shall prevail.

(2) For the purposes of Articles 127, 128, 133, 135, and 136, the Judge of the Supreme Court may exercise all the powers of the Full Court.

(3) The Judge of the Supreme Court shall have power, for special reasons to be recorded in the minutes, to order that any appeal from a Provincial or Local Court or the hearing of any case stated by a Provincial or Local Court under Article 88 shall be heard and determined or dealt with in the manner provided by this Order by himself alone instead of by the Full Court, and any judgment or order given or made by him in any such matter shall be deemed to be made by a judgment or order of the Full Court.

Provincial Courts.

18. (1) Provincial Courts shall be held by commissioned Consular officers at such places in Egypt as may from time to time be appointed under this Order.

(2) The High Commissioner may, by order in writing, with the previous or subsequent approval of the Secretary of State, appoint places at which Provincial Courts shall be held, and may assign the district in and for which each such Court shall act, and may designate the Consular officer who shall hold such Court.

(3) Every Provincial Court shall be styled His Britannic Majesty's Provincial Court at

(4) Every Provincial Court shall, with the approval of the Supreme Court, appoint a competent person, or persons, to perform such duties and to exercise such powers as are by this Order and any Rules of Court imposed and conferred upon the Registrar and Marshal, and any person so appointed shall per- form such duties and exercise such powers accordingly.

(5) Every Provincial Court shall have a seal bearing its style and such device as the Secretary of State from time to time directs; but where such a seal is not provided, the seal of the Consular officer holding the Court may be used.

19. (1) Where more than one commissioned Consular officer is stationed in the district assigned as the district of a Provincial Court, the High Commissioner may appoint a commissioned Consular officer, who is not appointed to hold the Court, as an additional Judge of the Provincial Court.

(2) Where an officer is so appointed, he shall hear and determine such matters, civil and criminal, being within the jurisdiction of a Provincial Court, as the Consular officer
