My telegram No.114 peragraph 2.
The French Minister having reported to Paris
my observations on Shameen has received enquiry how
soon le cas échéant question of concession would be
handled. I told him my idea was some provision that
rendition would be adjusted by subsequent arrangement.
He gathers from T.V. Sung that Nanking government is now uneasy about events on (?Kuangsi)-Yunan aree and
are afraid of France giving asylum in Tongking to
counter- Nenking elements.
Addressed to Foreign Office No.121, repeated to
Peking.
