he had paid in his $25. I learnt later that each had paid.
B.543 made no complaint of his re-transfer to the N.T. and I
heard nothing more of him."
To Jury: X X "On arrival I did not know there were any chinese
still inside. I understood that every one originally in the
Station had come out. I did not hear that B.722 had appeared
about 6.30 and gone in again without being fared on. 1 did know
that the I.P.Cs. had come out unscathed about 7.30.

that the A.S.P. and D.S.P. in turn each know of the above facts,
an attempt to enter might have been made earlier, but what good
would it have been to risk further casualties. The Station
Guard with a revolver was in poor position against B.543 with
a rifle. He couldn't tell which way the latter was coming.
The money on B.543 in kay was not discovered at first because
he was not searched. The $79 admittedly belonged to B.89.
B.543, B.80 and A.S.P. Mohinder Singh were all Sikhs. In
fairness to the other Indian Police officers at Lok Ma Chau,
I must point out that they did at any rate remain in barracks
instead of bolting as in the Tai O case."
