The third body I saw was that of I.P.C. B.9 which was lying in
an allayway near the N.W. corner of the compound. It appeared
to have been dead about 4 hours. It had been shot in the back,
the bullet entering at the level of the 3rd lumbar vertebra and

between the 10th and 11th ribs. External haemorrhage had been
very small, but the post mortem next day revealed that the
stomach had been shot right through and the liver badly lacerated.
Death was due to this bullet wound and haemorrhage, and must have
been considerably delayed, probably 2 hours. It is just possible though not probable, that if assistance had reached B.9 within
an hour, his life might have been saved. The wound might have
been caused by either a revolver or a rifle bullet, but my
opinion is in favour of the latter, the entrance wound in the
back being very small,"

5. Yip Chu Mui deod. "I was amah to the Sergeant's wife at Lok
Ma Chau police station last month, and was in the Station on the
afternoon of July 21st. The Sergt went out about 2 p.m.
mistress went with him to the gate, then returned to her quarters
and did not go out again. I did not see her before the trouble
started. About 5 p.m. I was in the other Sergeant's kitchen,
that next his quarters. I heard a shot from somewhere outside.
I came out to the cook house door and looked down into the
compound. I saw 3rd witness on our verandah. I only heard the
one shot. I saw an 1.P.C. take two paces in the compound and
then fall on the ground. I did not see any one come into the
compound by the back door. Then I saw another I.P.C., who had
a rifle, come out of the passage on to the verandah overlooking
