The D.C.A. draws a distinction between the
two queries by pointing out that the work on
which Mr. Brawn is employed, viz. attached
to the Education Department Office, is different
from that shown in the Estimates.
There is force
in this contention, but here again I should
have thought that, within limits and subject to
the Gove mor's approval, the Director of Education
was in order without exposing himself to audit
queries, in temporarily (in this case really
temporarily) disposing of his staff to the best
advantage according to his discretion having
regard to the work to beperformed.
