reception than might perhaps be likely
if it were to appear at the present juncture.
The author must of course support the
British case on the several
controversial questions with which it
must deal, and the book should be very
carefully written by Mr. Hughes from this
point of view, and it should be
scrutinised in draft by the authorities
in the Colony and at the Colonial Office,
before it is published.
