nominees of whan one is President and Wing Commodore
(myself at present) a representative from each of the
three Services (Amy, Navy and Air Force) the Director of
Aviation (at present the Harbour Master) and certain
elected members of whom two are Chinese.
(3)All flying members must (a) give an undertaking that they
expect to be in Hong Kong for the next three years and
(b) undertake to place their services at the disposal of
the Government when an emergency is declared.
(4)In the case of non European applications for membership
their nemes must be submitted to and approved before
ballot, by the Secretary for Chinese Affairs.
(5)Ballot for membership is by the Committee, two black
balls exclude.
(6) The Club is, subject to the above restrictions, open to
all, irrespective of nationality.
(7)The Club provides free instruction to members of the
Hong Kong Defence Corps.
(8) The Club has a Flying Instructor and a Ground Engineer
approved by the Air Ministry.
(9)A Club House is provided for general social amenities
including sleeping accommodation.
Up to the time of writing the Club have purchased and have in
use two Avão Avion Sea Planes.
With the Hong Kong Government Grant, plus
entrance fees, subscriptions and profits of the Club, we ought
to be able to just balance on Annual Budget, possibly with
difficulty, but there will probably be insufficient for general
expansion which is so desirable in an undertaking of this
nature.
