My Lord,
With reference to Your Lordship's
despatch No.140 of 24th May, 1930 and my reply No.480 of 18th September, 1930, I have the honour to enquire whether it is intended that the bonus of three months' salary payable on satisfactory completion of their agreement by officers who are not retained in the
service shall be in lieu of or additional to the half- pay on the homeward voyage previously granted in such
cases.
