BRITISH SECTION.

No. S. 221. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which shoul be clearly marked "Tender for Waiting Hall at Yaumati Station", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 17th day of June, 1930, on behalf of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section).

2. Drawings may be seen and the Specification and full particulars obtained by application to the Railway Head Office, Kowloon, on the deposit of a fee of $20, which will be refunded on the submission of a bona fide tender together with the return of the Specification intact.

3. The Contractor must deliver in with his Tender the schedule of quantities and prices, which should be fully filled up and shall set forth the items of which such estimate is composed, and shall contain his complete estimate.

4. The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract in the usual form of the Government Contracts and to give security for the sum of $300 in a bond with two sureties conditional for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such

contract.

5. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender,

Inspections outside Manila harbour from 20th April. Third class passengers and new crew must comply with the vaccination requirements.

Inspections outside the ports from 1st April. Steer ge passengers must comply with the vaccination require- ments. Cabin passengers must produce a vaccina- tion certificate or be vaccinated by ships doctor or quarantine authorities.

Vessels detained at river mouth and passengers and crew vaccinated unless they can produce evidence of successful recent vaccination.

Vessels arriving at Manila or Cebu (or at other ports of entry in the Philippine Islands) having loaded rice or peamits (ground nuts) at Hong Kong must be fumigated immediately upon arrival and prior to the discharge of cargo. At present fumigation can be performed only at Manila and Cebu,

Philippine Ports. All cabin and steerage passengers entering Philippine ports on vessels from Hong Kong will be require] to be vaccinated against small-pox before arrival in the Philippines or to present to the quarantine autho- rities at the port of entry satisfactory evidence of vaccination within one year.

No. S. 222.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Steel Roofs for New Ferry Piers at Mong Kok Tsui and Shamshuipo", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 10th day of June, 1930. The work comprises the supply and erection of the steel- work for the two roofs complete together with the roof covering, etc.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
