In continuation of Mr. Southorn's confidential
despatch of 8th May on the subject of the Cross Harbour Pipe Line, I have the honour to report that the whole of the works under the contract were satisfactorily completed by the Netherlands Harbour Works Company by the end of May.

I desire to add to the names mentioned in the
11th paragraph of the despatch under reference those of Mr.
W. Woodward, Engineer, and Mr. S. N. Petroff, Government
Diver, and to express my appreciation of the excellent work
performed by these two officers.
