Allowances, quarters and other circumstances affecting the value of the Office.

The duties of the office will consist of dental work amongst Government officers, their wives and families, amongst School children and in Government Hospitals or Out patient Departments attached to such hospitals or of any dental work which the officer may be from time to time required to do.

The officer appointed must be a fully qualified, dentist and registered in the dentists register under the Dentists Act 1878.

£600 to £1020 per annum by annual increments of £30. If the recommendations of the recent Salaries Commission are adopted, the officer will have the option of taking the revised salary allotted to this post.

Partially furnished rented quarters if available. If quarters are supplied by Government a deduction of 6% (or 7% if heavy furniture is provided) will be made from the Officer's salary. If Government quarters are not supplied an Officer who rents a tenement with the permission of the Government, receives a rent allowance in the sum of the rent and taxes payable in respect of the unfurnished tenement less a sum of 6% of salary. The maximum monthly rentals inclusive of taxes which are recognised by the Government are as follows:

(a) In the case of an Officer whose salary exceeds £1200 per annum, $250 per mensem.

(b) in the case of an Officer whose

salary exceeds £900 but does not exceed £1200 per annum, $200 per

mensem.

(c) In the case of an officer whose

salary exceeds £600 but does not exceed £900 per annum, $175 per

mensem.

(a) In the case of an Officer whose salary does not exceed £600 per annum, $150 per mensem.

A tenement is taken to be a separate House or a self-contained flat of two or more rooms, but does not include accommodation in a hotel or boarding house or, except with the express approval of the Govern- ment, a single room or two rooms occupied by an Officer singly.

No rent allowance will ordinarily be granted to an Officer on probation or agreement, who was unmarried at date of

appointment, if he marries while he remains on probation, or agreement.
