PUBLIC WORKS OFFICE,
HONGKONG,
25th June, 1929.
In reply to your letter dated 14th June, 1929,
I would point out that the experiment referred to therein,
and which has not proved satisfactory, was carried out
under the direct supervision of two of your representatives,
viz. Messrs. Fleming and Kinnaird. However, I shall be
pleased to arrange for a further trial in Connaught Road
adjacent to that already treated with Colfix and to give
you every assistance possible in carrying out the work.
Will you kindly say when you would like to commence this
further experiment, and instructions will be given for the
necessary material and plant to be on the site.
July 2nd, at 9.30 a.m. is suggested as a suitable date and
time.
I have the honour to be,
Sirs,
Your obedient servant,
(Sgd.) H. E. Goldsmith.
