Dear Sirs,
39
COLFIX SPRAY.
We confirm our last letter dated 30th June
and now beg to refer to our letter of 4th May, wherein we reduced our price to you of Colfix 3pray. as, in the interval, we find that the price is still something of an obstacle towards business resulting in substantial quantities, we have gone very fully into this question during the last few days, and now beg to advise you that we have decided to still further reduce our price. We quote as follows,-
COLFIX SPRAY
J
in barrels or drums (our option) containing about 40 British Imperial Gallons,
40 Hongkong cents per gallon, delivered to your depot in Hongkong or Kowloon. Cost of barrels to be debited to you on invoice at $4 each and credited to you in full on the empties being returned in good condition to us.
In the last mail received from Home, we are advised that the sales of Colfix in all the subsidiary companies at dome are advancing at a tremendous rate and that one factory alone, during the first five days of July, shipped a quantity of 37,000 gallons, while the factory which was in operation in New Zealand up to a recent date, has found their production quite inadequate for the demand, with the result that two more factories are in the course of erection. In addition to the above, we have to report that our sales through Hongkong also continue to increase to a good extent, and while the foregoing may not be of any particular interest to you, it will at the same time serve to prove that Colfix is rapidly gaining a very firm footing for use in the construction and upkeep of roads in various parts of the World.
From rough figures which we have taken out ourselves, we find that Colfix Spray, even at 45 cents per gallon, compares quite favourably with using Hot Asphalt, and now that we have made a further reduction of 5 cents per gallon, we are quite certain that the reduced figure should bear very favourably in comparison with what you are presently using. We therefore trust that you will now see your way clear to place further and more substantial orders with us, and we look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.
In the meantime we take pleasure in enclosing
in
a further few copies of the Great North Road at High Barnet, which carries a traffic of over 17,000 tons per day, and which, our opinion, is as good a testimonial as one could reasonably expect to have of the suitability of the cold emulsion which we offer.
Yours faithfully,
NC/AF
