moreover every reason to hope that the value of the property
will rise as the Colony gradually recovers from the
disastrous slump of 1925.

In these circumstances I seek Your Lordship's
authority for the writing off of the interest which had
accrued due up to the end of last year and, subject to Your
Lordship's sanction, I propose during the present year
neither to bring pressure to bear on the owner to obtain
further payments of interest nor to seek to enforce the
mortgage securities, unless there should arise an opportunity
of selling the premises Inland Lot No.2237 at a price which
would discharge a substantial part of the Government's claim.
