Import Duty on Matured Whiskies from the United Kingdom, and Brandies from France.
It is hereby notified for general information that importers wishing to satisfy the Principal Collector of Customs that brandies and whiskies imported by them are taxable at the lower rate of duty (viz., Rs.14.50 per proof gallon) should produce the following certificates:-
(a) For whisky from the United Kingdom: a certificate issued by the Board of Customs and Excise specifying that the whisky has been distilled three years prior to its
exportation.
(b) For brandy from France: a certificate issued by the This should indicate Department "Contributions Indirectes". that the brandy imported is manufactured from the juice of the grape and is at least three years old at the time of
exportation.
