In connection with r. Arery's despatch
No.90 dated the 17th of April, 1929, regarding
certain changes in the titles of the Commissioned
Officers of the Police Force in Hong Kong, 1 have
the honour to refer Your Lordship to the
recommendations contained in the schedule to my despatch No.37 of the 22nd January, 1930, under
paragraph 112 of the Report of the Salaries
Commissioners to the effect that the salary of the
Deputy Inspector General of Police should be £1,400.
A copy of the relevant portion of the schedule in
question is enclosed for convenience of reference.
2. I have further to recommend that, when this
post is actually brought into being, it should be awarded to r. T.. King, now Divisional Superintendent in charge of the Criminal Investigation Sub-Department of the Police. r. King was the first probationer
to be appointed to the Hong Kong Police Force under
the examination system.
His appointment dates from
