the subject of the Colonial Development Fund,
reached me during the Easter holidays at the end
of last week.
The liberal policy set out in
your letter encourages me to hope that we shall
be able to obtain assistance from the Colonial
Development Fund for some of the projects set
out in my telegram to the Colonial Office of the
15th March. The chief trouble here is that most
of the schemes are not yet sufficiently advanced
to enable me to put them forward in sufficient
detail for submission to the Advisory Committee.
I will urge our engineers to
press on with the designs and estimates for the
schemes, and will address the Colonial Office as
