commencing salary of £675 previously proposed by
us which would enable a married officer on join-
ing the service to live in a reasonable manner.

for these officers on appointment would be:- (a) £200 - £260 per annum, age 24 - 28.

A Board of Trade Surveyor's commencing salary at Home in 1929 is £414, which shows that for members
of these three professions and our own, of similar
age, the salary on attaining a like age at which
a Board of Trade Surveyor is engaged is practically
uniform and substantiates still further our claim
that the figure of 675 is the minimum on which a
surveyor in this office should be asked to commence.
